The new research has shown that it is not the fat that is the problem in diets, but carbohydrates that are the main issue. The refined and processed kind of carbohydrates are the kind that are the worst for you.<\/p>\n<p id=\"takeawayheader\">Key Takeaways:<\/p>\n<ul id=\"takeaways\">\n<li id=\"takeaway1\">People with a high fat intake &#8212; about 35 percent of their daily diet &#8212; had a 23 percent lower risk of early death and 18 percent lower risk of stroke compared to people who ate less fat, said lead a<\/li>\n<li id=\"takeaway2\">The research also found that eating fruits, vegetables and legumes can lower your risk of dying prematurely. But three or four servings a day seemed to be plenty.
