The researchers discovered that study participants who took breaks from their diets lost more weight than those who did not. Furthermore, the intermittent dieters kept off more weight long-term than the strict dieters. According to researcher Professor Byrne, a two-week break from dieting seems to be just the right duration to achieve success.
