The study was a collaboration between researchers from Loma Linda University School of Health in California, AgroParis Tech and Insitut National de la Recherche Agronomique in Paris, France. It included over 81,337 male and female participants from the Adventist Health Study 2 and assessed the dietary patterns of participants throughout the years 2002 until 2007. Through data analysis the researchers were able to conclude that consumers of high amounts of meat proteins had an increase by 60 percent in cardiovascular disease risk.
