Please Pass The Butter!

December 29, 2015 By Corey B

After many years of research, no evidence have been found that we should stay away from saturated fats like butter. Part of this study signifies that there is no direct link between saturated fats and heart problems. A small percentage of this fat is essential to be included in the diet. However, what really affects a person’s health is Trans Fats. This can cause a number of diseases.

What Are Trans Fats?

Trans Fats are fats transformed from liquid oils in a process known as hydrogenation. In this process, vegetable oils are transformed into solid fats by adding hydrogen atoms. This increases the flavor of food but it is actually not good for the health of the people. These Trans Fats can cause coronary heart disease.

How It Is Harmful For Health?

Trans Fats are harmful for your health and body. It can cause clogged arteries which is one of the worse signs of a heart disease. This increases the chances of stroke and heart attack. Trans Fats increases LDL (low density lipoprotein), also known as bad cholesterol level. This build-up blocks the arteries and gradually causes heart malfunctions leading to cardiac arrest.

According to research, a person who consumes greater amount of Trans Fat has 50% higher risks of having a cardiac attack as compared to a person who does not consume or consume less. It has been proven that these fats increase the level of blood causing clogs in arteries. High consumption of Trans Fats can also cause diabetes.

Trans Fats are mainly present in junk foods. Burgers, fries, and the like may directly cause harm to the body and health due to higher Trans Fats content. According to the British Medical Journal, butter and other saturated fats do not affect the health negatively but Trans fats do.

Conclusion

Diabetes and coronary heart disease are the two most common diseases that are caused by Trans fats. Both of these diseases are fatal and can be highly dangerous for your health. So, it is very much important to avoid any form of Trans fats and exclude them from your diet. This will help you get into a healthier life. Eating habits and proper diets are the two main things for having a healthy and happy life. So, make sure you check on your intake of Trans fats and lead a healthy life.
