Walking is a great form of exercise. In fact, it might just be the preferred exercise for your body. A lot of times as we age the connective tissue between our bones, cartilage, will have a tendency to break down. The years of living can cause that to happen, so when we decide to get back into shape an exercise like running might not be the best thing for us.
Running causes a lot impact to fall on the knees and joints, so this is not the best exercise for us. What can we do instead? Walk.
Walking has many great benefits. First of all, make sure you walk through your neighborhood (if it’s safe). This way you’ll get some great fresh air, which will be great for your circulation and overall lung capacity.
In addition, as you walk through your neighborhood the sunshine will help your skin as well as produce great Vitamin D for you.
But is walking something that perhaps bores you? Well, simply grab an audiobook, turn it on and learn or be entertained while you walk around that neighborhood.
