It has been thought that once you are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, then there is no turning back. However, it has been discovered that a diet of 600 calories for 8 weeks can actually reverse diabetes. It removes fat from the pancreas and can result in that disease to no longer be a problem. It has been referred to as the Newcastle Diet. It is extremely limiting on the foods, and there are some side-effects during the low calorie time period, therefore it is always advisable to seek medical approval before trying any such diet that is so severe.
