Cannabis, the plant that leads to Marijuana, has long been touted by supporters to have medical benefits. Another push came when new research indicated it may be useful in combating dementia in senior citizens.
Cannabis oil is already used to treat epilepsy, so the jump to dementia or Alzheimer’s is not to steep. However, even strong proponents conceded dementia is not as advanced a disease as epilepsy.
While supporters have immediately praised the usage of cannabis oil as expected, several countries have begun to allow the product for more use in medical capacities, suggesting some credence to their arguments.
