Many people are trying to eat healthy and going organic has become popular. However, a lot of our organic food comes from China, whom do not have high standards for their food grown. In fact, many foods that are shipped here are not even close to passing our protocols. They are sent back for the lack of labels, presences of drugs, or even the quality of the food itself. A lot of these food are not even grown and cared for correctly. The best way to know your food is “organic,” is to grow it yourself.
- China has little to no official standard in defining the term “organic” for their produce.
- Chemical pollution in China’s rivers contaminate their irrigation systems and farms.
- The safest way to obtain organic produce is to learn to grow it yourself.
“It turns out that much of the food labeled “organic” was never grown with the intention of being organic, but rather as a means to circumvent China’s reputation for substandard produce.”
