Spicy diet has become very popular over the years and many people prefer it due to its incredible taste. Good nutrition is all you need for a healthy lifestyle. Most spicy foods have powerful beneficial effects in the body; they help reduce body weight and heart-related problems. Others prevent cancers and have nutritional value in the diet.

Turmeric is a sharp tasting woodsy spice that adds a yellow tint to foods like; rice, lentils, potatoes and cauliflower. Turmeric has a historic importance in curing health conditions such as; heartburn and arthritis. They lower the cholesterol level and provide a stronger antioxidant protection against skin cancer, breast cancer and other types of cancer. Turmeric blocks the growth of malignant tissues hence reducing the reproduction of cancer cells.

Cayenne pepper is a common fruit spice in most countries and tastes similar to black pepper. This spice has many practical health benefits and can be taken with foods, drinks or in capsule form. Cayenne pepper has been used as an antiseptic, analgesic and counterirritant over the years. When taken with food, cayenne helps relieve some of the digestive problems such as intestinal spasms and gasses.

Cayenne spice consists of important constituents such as capsaicin and this serves as an important antioxidant protection against leukemia, Lymphoma and other forms of cancer. The antioxidant power of Capsaicin helps reduce or prevent diabetes and heart diseases.

Due to the curcumin content in turmeric, it has the power to fight inflammation of body parts and to some point boosts the brain capacity. Apart from combating diseases, these two spices boost energy in the body and increase the chances of a longer life. Both cayenne and turmeric are low in calorie content and highly nutritive; they help prevent overweight cases.
