Oil derived from hemp is becoming quite useful for people with varying conditions. Although we haven’t always known the benefits of using it, we are slowly becoming more aware of the impact it has on our health. As it turns out, it is very useful and has tons of benefits regarding your health and well being. In this article, we will discuss some of the things you should know.
What exactly is hemp?
Hemp is a naturally occurring organism that falls into the category of the cannabis plant. Unlike Marijuana, it does not contain the psychoactive chemical known as THC. (Except in minuscule amounts) Therefore, smoking it alone will not get users high. With that being said, the plant does contain one of the chemicals found in the Marijuana plant which has been deemed useful for medical purposes. That chemical is CBD. CBD can be extracted from the plant and infused into oils and other products. Because CBD does not get you high, products with CBD are totally legal throughout the entire country. Now, let’s get to some of the powers that this product can have on your health.
Endocannabinoid system?
First of all, CBD products work by stimulating the endocannabinoid system. This system which we already have within us is found in many areas of our body such as our brain, organs, tissues, etc. Essentially, CBD helps the endocannabinoid to function properly. Understanding exactly how this works can be a bit tricky to understand. For more information regarding how CBD works to balance our natural endocannabinoid system, click here.

Hemp vs CBD oil
These two things are very different. In the previous paragraph, we discussed the benefits of CBD oil. CBD oil is derived from the hemp-plant. Although the marijuana plant can be bread to have higher and more concentrated amounts of CBD, there are a few reasons why CBD oil can’t be derived from it. First, marijuana is illegal in most states and therefore cannot be used. Also, using Marijuana to extract CBD would result in higher amounts of THC within the extraction. These factors make it so that the THC free hemp-plant must be used for extraction. For a good amount of CBD to be extracted, it requires lots of the hemp-plant via CO2 extraction. In result, the process is expensive to complete and CBD products are costly. Alternatively, hemp-seed oil products are available for a cheaper price. They will not be rich in CBD and therefore will not offer the same benefits discussed above. However, it still has some benefits which we will discuss here soon. For more information regarding the differences between the two, see this article here. Now, let’s talk about some of the benefits of the hemp-seed oil itself. (Not CBD oil)
- Good for the skin
- Can lower cholesterol
- Boost Your Immunity
- Support nervous system
Obviously, this plant has some amazing benefits. If you feel like either option could help you, consider trying one out. They are widely available online. And don’t worry, it is totally legal!
PS: Hopefully with congress opening up the industrial hemp farming bill to more states, the cost of CBD oil will drop and be affordable to everybody.
