Turmeric is a golden spice which has been used for various therapeutic applications. One of the most promising of these applications is as a natural remedy for cancer. The medical journal Cancer Letters recently published the results of a study conducted by a group of American researchers. This study evaluated the effectiveness of curcumin in targeting cancer cells. Curcumin is a polyphenol found in turmeric. Cancer stem cells are assumed to be the primary cause of cancer tumor formation. To aid in the proper absorption of turmeric by the body, it should be consumed along with food containing healthy fats.
