June 8, 2017 By Darrell Miller

Cholesterol is a problem that you can fight personally by choosing better foods for your body. LDL forms in our bodies when we intake high fat foods, like dairy and meats with high fat content. We also intake a lot of carbs, like sugars and flour. But we can help our bodies fight this by helping it create HDL, which is found in plant oils, nuts, and in green tea. HDL forms in your body and helps break LDL down to get to your liver so it can flush our of your system. It’s not difficult to change you’re habits, just by eating reduced fat foods and leaner meat, you can help your body help you.

Key Takeaways:

  • Generally, good cholesterol foods come from plants, due to their phytosterol content.
  • A good swap for lowering LDL is replacing coffee or soda with green tea.
  • Choosing lean cuts of meat and low fat dairy can help lower LDL.

“Keeping a good diet to maintain low LDL level can be be done by eating lots of whole grain foods such as oatmeal and fish.”
