There are many types and reasons for headaches – including muscle tension, stress, hormonal changes and dehydration. Essential oils can help, when they are used to target the reason for the headaches. For example, basil oil in a carrier solution can ease muscles and soothe a tension headache. Other examples of essential oils that can help are peppermint, lavender, geranium and orange oil. Some headaches, such as ones caused by dehydration, need additional care but essential oils can be soothing and help general wellbeing.
