There are a number of preventative measures one can take to combat the formation of cancers like colorectal cancer. One such measure is the consumption of Prebiotics. Prebiotics are found in a variety foods like asparagus, onion, garlic, leeks, and bananas. They are substances that diversify and promote the growth of the positive type of gut bacteria. A study performed on mice with onion and asparagus demonstrated the effectiveness of these foods at increase gut bacteria that bolstered the immune system. A healthy immune system will combat cancer cells to a greater degree.
