High Blood Pressure Is The Silent Killer

High Blood Pressure Is The Silent Killer

November 28, 2016 By Corey B

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, refers to the blood pushing against the arterial walls with a very elevated force. This is very dangerous as it makes your heart work much harder in order to pump the blood through the body. The pressure force can lead to the walls overstretching, which can lead to tiny tears occurring in the blood vessels (also called vascular scarring).

Effects of High Blood Pressure

If your hypertension rises above the normal levels and stays high, it can lead to serious health issues which can affect:

  • The Kidneys. It might damage the blood vessels in your kidneys, and damage to the kidneys can eventually raise your blood pressure further.
  • The Heart. It can damage your blood vessels and arteries which can negatively impact on your heart. It can also lead to heart diseases and enlargement of heart muscles, which is extremely dangerous to your overall health.
  • The Eyes and Limbs. High blood pressure can damage the blood vessels in the eyes and limbs, which can lead to sight and mobility issues.
  • The Brain. It is actually one of the leading causes of stroke. It can also lead to a type of dementia known as vascular dementia.

How To Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally

Hypertension can quietly damage/hurt your body for many years before any symptoms develop. If left uncontrolled, you might end up with poor health, poor quality of life, or other serious diseases. Fortunately, there are some effective natural remedies which you can use to reduce hypertension.

Drink Coconut Water: Coconut water contains magnesium and potassium, both of which aid with regular muscle function (and as you know, the heart is one big muscle). Magnesium has been shown to help reduce blood pressure by helping relax the blood vessels; the effect gets magnified when its’ combined with potassium.

Eat Fish. One of the top causes of high blood pressure, is inflammation in arteries over time. Numerous studies have shown that consuming fish, that’s high in DHA and EPA helps reduce the inflammation in the body, which in turn reduces blood pressure.

Try Some Hibiscus. Hibiscus herbs have actually been used by many cultures to manage blood pressure. The hibiscus acts as an effective diuretic, which draws out the sodium (contained in salt) from the bloodstream, which in turn decreases the pressure exerted on the arterial walls. Consequently, this helps reduce the blood pressure.
