Got 20 Minutes? New Study Suggests Walking Reduces Inflammation In The Body

February 3, 2017 By VitaNet Staff

Getting some form of exercise of at least 20 minutes a day can do wonders for your body, mind soul. A new study shows that walking at least 20 minutes a day can help reduce inflammation of the body. Inflammation of the body is what causes those annoying aches and pains that we deal with on a daily basis. So instead of running to the medicine cabinet everyday, sometimes more than one try and take a nice walk everyday for at least 20 minutes and you will feel the difference.

Key Takeaways:

  • Study suggests that just 20 minutes of walking could help reduce inflammation in the body, a contributing factor in arthritis, obesity and cancer.
  • During a 20 minute walk hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine are released and activate the beta-2 adrenergic receptors, which then leads to TNF reduction.
  • The study shows people who are frustrated by lack of weight loss that there are still other benefits to working out, like inflammation reduction.

“The result of the study is a motivation for people who are frustrated by lack of noticeable results after a period of working out.”
