15 Vegetables You Didn’t Know Were High in Protein

July 17, 2017 By Darrell Miller

Most people don’t know that some vegetables are a good source of protein. Hubbard squash, peas, spinach, cauliflower and beet greens are in the high protein group. But the most surprising high protein vegetable is the potato! Both white and sweet potatoes are good sources of protein. Most people, I’m sure, wouldn’t think of a potato as a source of protein. Key Takeaways:

  • Upping the amount of veggies in your meals is a great way to reduce sugar and get more nutrients.
  • Vegetables are not only full of healthy carbs, they are also a good source of protein.
  • Beets, peas, squash, spinach and cauliflower, are just some of the highly nutritious vegetable proteins available to amp up your diet.

“Unless you have an inexplicable aversion to foods that roll, green peas should be a staple in your weekly meal plan.”
