Recent research in Cleveland showed that hospital room floors did not show the same type of decontamination as performed on frequently touched surfaces. It found that germs such as MRSA,VRE,and C difficult were living on the floors. The research found in almost one half of the rooms items that are handled frequently are placed on the hospital room floors. Germs can be transferred to hands, clothing and other surfaces from these items. The researchers recommended further research on hospital room floors.
