An Overview Regarding Glutathione And Your Immune System

November 21, 2016 By Corey B

Before studying glutathione and your immune system, it is important to understand what glutathione is and what role it plays in the human body. GSH or glutathione is a master antioxidant that is produced by the body and in fact, it is a tiny molecule of protein that is made up of three amino acids: cysteine, glycine, and glutamate which are known as GSH building blocks or precursors. GSH is made from these three blocks that are present in each cell in the human body.

Glutathione plays different roles including metabolizing nutrients, regulates cellular events such as gene expression and DNA synthesis as well as repair. Glutathione also performs protein synthesis and makes cells grow. It metabolizes toxins as well as carcinogens and improves the immune system.

Glutathione and the Immune System

In order to understand glutathione and your immune system, it is important to understand that high levels of glutathione are essential if you wish to remain youthful and live longer. The higher the levels of GSH are, the better health one enjoys and it also increases longevity. On the other hand, low levels of glutathione result in early demise and many different diseases.

If the body does not get sufficient GSH, the immune system will suffer and the detoxification system fails. On the other hand, normal glutathione levels ensure youthfulness and vitality as well as a healthy and active body. It is right to think of glutathione and your immune system as complementary factors and by maintaining high levels of intracellular glutathione it is possible to strengthen the immune system which means that the risk of disease decreases dramatically.

GSH can help in protecting the immune system and will do two different things which are that it will improve immune cell activities and in addition, it is an essential antioxidant that is present in each cell in the human body. There has been a lot of clinic-based research being conducted to fully understand the meaning of GSH and the ways that it helps in optimizing the human immune system.

In addition, glutathione helps ensure improved detoxification at the cellular level and energy levels will rise and people become stronger and they are able to endure more.

This shows that glutathione and your immune system must work together in order to create a healthy body and in addition, they will help to restore the body to its normal healthy state. Being a very strong antioxidant, glutathione also protects cells from being oxidized. This is an important function because oxidized cells become weak and so will become more susceptible to being attacked by diseases.

Cells that are not healthy will permit oxidation which leads to various illnesses. This is when glutathione and your immune system need to kick in to protect the cells from such oxidation processes. GSH is essential in helping to boost the working of the immune system which once it is strong enough can easily ward off various diseases which ensure living a healthier and stronger and happier life.
