8 Ailments Blackstrap Molasses Can Treat

June 11, 2017 By Darrell Miller

Blackstrap molasses is more than just an old time baking ingredient.
The name “blackstrap” comes from the Dutch word “stroop”, meaning syrup, and the dark color of the syrup that is produced when sugar cane is boiled. It’s the base ingredient for rum!
Producers boil sugar cane syrup repeatedly at high temperatures, and the result is intensely flavored and very sweet.
Blackstrap molasses has vitamin B6, iron, calcium, and is a good potassium source.
Because of these nutritional factors, some people blackstrap molasses on their skin and hair; it may improve bone health and even relieve PMS symptoms.

Key Takeaways:

  • It can help treat skin conditions, unhealthy hair, even mental disorders such as ADHD.
  • Can help aid diabetics with arthritis pain and iron deficiency if consumed cautiously.
  • A healthy and natural way to improve both your skin and hair.

“Blackstrap molasses, which is the portion leftover after sugarcane has been processed, is chock full of minerals and also acts as a natural anti-inflammatory agent.”
