The autoimmune protocol diet or just AIP is one of the newest on the scene. It takes into account macro as well micro nutrients to help people with autoimmune diseases function better by watching certain foods known to give problems such as gluten. It functions similarly to paleo in its restrictions but the focus is on gut health. The idea is that intestinal permeability is what causes problems and limiting it may cure. Like all diets, consult your physician before starting it to see if it is appropriate for you.
