Blood sugar help: Research reveals MULTIPLE benefits of garlic for diabetics

In the United States, approximately 120 million people suffer from diabetes or pre-diabetes. There are medications that can lessen diabetes-related complications, but garlic offers benefits as well. One clinical study found that consuming garlic extract can lower blood glucose levels among patients with type 2 diabetes. Other research shows that garlic also lowers total cholesterol and LDL levels. Garlic contains the beneficial compound allicin that reduces inflammation. Eating one or two cloves of garlic daily, especially raw, is the best way to reap its health benefits. Try adding it to salads, vegetables, rice or soup.
