Fat cells help the liver stay in balance. When a person or animal is eating, these levels in the body (which mostly help in the brains functioning and energy) are controlled by the liver. When the a person or animal is sleeping, fat cells that have been stored in the body take over and release glucose which maintain levels and produce energy and help the brain maintain normal functioning. Thus, fat cells help maintain the liver’s functioning when a person or animal is sleeping or fasting.
