Ginger is a spice known in traditional medicine as pain control medication with strong anti-inflammatory characteristic. It has more than one hundred metabolites, which are especially efficient in relief of pain due to arthritis. It also induces body perspiration, which is useful in high fever reduction, while steam created by boiling ginger helps with congestion. Other benefits of ginger are reducing nausea, improvement and better control of insulin levels for diabetics and cancer fighting antioxidant characteristic. As a perennial, ginger can be grown at home and is very suitable for hydroponic growth.
