March 14, 2014 By Darrell Miller

 Hair, skin and nail supplement

fruits and vegetablesA good diet and a lifestyle packed with exercise is necessary for good health but sometimes supplements come in handy. The Imedeen hair and nails supplement from the Holland and Barrett. This supplement which is in form of capsules is rich in biotin and silica. Other components are Vitamin B and Zinc. It promotes hair growth, glossy hair, a less itchy and less tight scalp and it also makes nails stronger. Silica is regarded an important nutrient and is critical to good health though only traces of it are found in the body. It is a widespread component in the earth surface.

Deficiency in silica

A body deficiency in silica causes the hair and skin to lose elasticity and strength respectively. Nails also grow brittle. Skin, hair and nails are healthier with a higher silica concentration. Biotin has high sulfur amounts and it helps the body to absorb ample amounts of nutritional sulfur. Biotin plays a big role in keeping the hair and skin healthy and the whole body as well. It boosts stress resistance and keeps the energy levels high. It helps in the production and conversion of amino acids, fatty acids and carbohydrates.

It also aids glycogen manufacturing. Amino acids are known to aid body and tissue repairs. Taking amino acid supplements helps to repair hair loss, skin damage and nail breakage. Amino acids provide nutrients from the inside to nourish these tissues on the outside. It maintains skin smoothness, elasticity in hair and strength in nails by strengthening the connective tissues. Poor metabolism is reflected on the skin surface and it is due to poor nutrition. A high intake of amino acids keeps the blood flow steady and helps nourish important aspects of the body by repairing and preventing conditions. Amino acids also aid in slowing down the aging process.
