Nurturing you body is important for your health but the brain needs to be nurtured as well to prevent conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease. The brain needs complex carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids to function. Some nutrients such as selenium and tryptophan can also fight depression. Consuming chocolate or alcohol can boost mood but the effects are temporary and can cause harm in the long run. Eating healthy fruits and vegetables can provide antioxidants to prevent brain damage. Regular exercise is also important to increase blood flow to the brain to keep it healthy as we’ll.
