New clinical trial confirms that metabolic benefits of vitamin E supplementation

February 8, 2019 By Darrell Miller

Vitamin E in the body helps transport waste to the kidneys, in particular, creatinine, a waste bi product from muscle function and use. A certain type of vitamin E extracted from palm oil has been shown to reduce kidney damage issues in people who have diabetes. It also helps to slow brain damage done by free radicals in the body that are caused by oxidative stress and contribute to brain malfunctions such as Alzheimer. Vitamin E also helps improve and some what reverse skin damage.

Key Takeaways:

  • The reasons why people should increase their intake of vitamin E are enormous and increasing. Recently, researchers discovered that diabetes-related kidney damage was improved using vitamin E.
  • The research concentrated on tocotrienol, a kind of vitamin E that can be extracted from Vitamin E.
  • Before now, tocotrienol has been found to be an alternative remedy for the treatment of diabetes because it can neutralize free radicals, and improve blood sugar levels.

“The administered dosage is higher compared to what is normally given for other nutrient supplements since it did not exhibit significant effects at lower doses. All treatments were given twice a day for eight weeks, and regular follow-ups were conducted throughout this period.”
