Recently there have been a few new studies look at the levels of Omega 3 and RDW which stands for red blood cell distribution. Here there are two different studies. The first one is about omega 3 and it’s effects on RDW. It has been shown that it helps increase the red blood cells ability to change its shape. The second study also studied Omega 3, but it looked at NLR which is a biomarker for inflammation which ends up measuring immune system balance.
Key Takeaways:
- Omega 3 has been shown to be associated with red blood cell distribution width.
- RDW is the red blood cells fluidity and ability to change its shape.
- The second study looked at omega 3 levels and NLR levels which deals with inflammation.
“Both low Omega-3 Index levels and elevated RDW are risk factors for all-cause mortality.”
