January 31, 2020 By Darrell Miller

Vitamin D and omega-3s can help with preventing cancer and heart diseases. Both of these diseases are the leading cause of death in America and cause over 1.2 million deaths a year. Vitamin D can also help with autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis. Vitamin D is naturally caused when sunlight hits your skin. It can also help fight respiratory diseases. Researchers have shown that there is a 12% decrease in breast disease for women when the correct dose is taken. Omega-3s are found in fatty fish and the fats found in nuts, avocados and olives. Omega-3s are a beneficial fat that helps prevent cardiovascular disease. One research study found that the risk from heart attacks decreased over 70% from taking a daily dose of 930 mg of EPA and 750 mg of DHA, both are types of omega-3s.

Key Takeaways:

  • Having a vitamin D deficiency is directly linked to several major physiological and psychological problems
  • Several research studies have been done surrounding the correct threshold for vitamin D consumption
  • Vitamin D is naturally found in food groups such as salmon, mushrooms and eggs

“Vitamin D, which is created in the skin in response to direct sunlight, helps to maintain the structure and function of bones and teeth.”
