Stomach bloating: Activated charcoal provides relief for tummy discomfort

March 5, 2021 By Darrell Miller

Bloating of the stomach can lead to a lot of discomfort, but it is not something you have to tolerate. There are quite a few remedies available that are proven to work. Activated extract of charcoal is one such remedy helping to expel the build-up of gasses in your stomach. This is the common cause of bloating, as gas has no escape route, so it stretches your stomach. Avoiding foods that create these gasses is one advice that you may follow, but this is often not sufficient to avoid the issue.

Key Takeaways:

  • According to the health body, activated charcoal works “hard in your system, absorbing excess gas from your intestines.”
  • One of the most promising supplements for relieving stomach bloating symptoms is activated charcoal.
  • As Holland and Barrett explains, charcoal tablets (or capsules) contain ‘activated charcoal’ that’s made by heating charcoal to a high temperature.

“Stomach bloating is often the result of too much gas clogging up your digestive system. When gas builds up in your digestive system, it has nowhere to go but out, hence the stretching sensation often experienced in the stomach area. Eliminating gassy foods is the default advice but this may not cut it.”
