December 19, 2012 By Darrell Miller

Tribulus terestris some times called puncture is a green leafy plant commonly found in regions with tropical type of climate. This herb is removed majorly from the root of the plant. It has been used to cure a lot of different kinds of ailments in the world. It is used as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, an antiseptic and even as a mood enhancer.

The following are the uses and benefits of this herb.

The commonly known benefit of this herb is its application in the treatment of sexual disorders. In India and china it has been used to treat infertility and libido issues. It has properties that restores and enhances libido mostly in men.
It has been proved that it also helps in prolonging erections. Individuals who have erectile dysfunctions and problems, this herb comes as solution to this problem.

It has properties that aid in the secretion of the luteinizing hormone which in turns aid in the erection process. But this does not mean that it acts as Viagra and its side effects are not adverse as compared to the later.
It is also used to give support to sports performance. This herb helps in improving muscle endurance especially to those sports men and women who perform body building and resistance exercises.

Most athletes use it as a supplement to their body during exercises and it does not work as steroids.
A discussion is not complete without talking about the side effects of this herb. About side effects, it has been in use for a long time now but unfortunately no study has proved its side effects to the health of human beings. This is made possible by the fact that it is not a hormone but only helps in the increase of testosterone.

The commonly experienced side effect is stomach upset which can be stopped by taking this herb with food and the problem is solved.
In conclusion, Tribulus as a herb is one among very many herbal treatments and drugs with little or no side effects and as such incase of the said disorders one is advised to use the herb.
