A recent study performed by the University of California San Francisco has made a significant correlation between the amount of sleep we get and how much sugar and caffeine we consume. Researchers noted that people who slept five or fewer hours a night consumed up to 21 percent more sugary drinks than those who got seven to eight hours a night. It is unknown if the lack of sleep causes the higher consumption or if the higher doses of sugar cause a lack of sleep. If you are concerned about your sugar intake, try maximizing your sleep schedule.
