Without proper exercise, life expectancy and diseases are greater. A recent study shows that bicycling to work helps to decrease these factors. A big study done at the University of Glasgow had over 260,000 participants. All of these people had some form of transportation assigned for 5 years from walking to riding in a car. What they found is that bicycling to work was just as effective or even more as walking. The study also showed that bicycling was better because longer distances could be done and it is constant movement. Therefore, more exercise is being accomplished.
