The Best Way to Lose Belly Fat.

November 4, 2016 By Corey B

Figuring out the best way to lose belly fat is a common goal among many people. Hardly anyone wants to have a big belly, but figuring out how to get rid of this type of fat is hard to do. There are so many fad diets and scams out there that claim that if you just follow their plan, you will quickly lose all that extra fat around your middle, many times without much effort at all on your part.

The truth about the best way to lose belly fat is that you need to lose weight in general to lose belly fat. You cannot spot reduce or lose fat from just one spot in your body. You need a combination of diet and exercise to accomplish this, and it will not necessarily be easy. Nevertheless, this is the only way to get the results that you are looking for.

The first step in the best way to lose belly fat is to start changing the way you eat. If you have been gaining weight or if you are overweight, you need to cut back on the number of calories that you eat. To do this, it can be helpful to record everything that you eat for anywhere from a day to a week to pinpoint easy changes you can make and to see what you are doing wrong.

You can also figure out exactly how much you are eating. Usually for a slow and healthy way to lose belly fat you will want to cut out between 500 and 1,000 calories per day, not going below about 1,500 calories per day as this might put your body into starvation mode where it will try to hoard calories and make it harder to lose weight.

To make your dieting efforts more efficient, the best way to lose belly fat also includes adding cardiovascular exercise, such as walking, running, swimming, or even dancing, as well as weight lifting. You burn more calories while exercising if you do cardiovascular exercise. However, lifting weights increases your overall muscle mass, which will make you healthier, more toned, and also make it so that your body will burn more calories even when you are not exercising. Muscle takes more calories to maintain than fat, so it is a good idea to add muscle to replace the fat you are losing so your weight loss efforts will proceed more quickly.
