February 16, 2016 By Corey B

Maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet is essential to an individual’s mental and physical health. Unfortunately, the prevalence of unhealthy junk food and the rise of the Internet have led tens of millions of Americans to adopt unhealthy lifestyles that have led them to become seriously overweight. As a number of medical studies have proven that dieting is the most effective way of losing weight, dozens of different fad diets have enjoyed reef periods in the limelight as quick and easy solutions to the widespread problem of obesity. However, when dieting a person must make sure their restricted intake does not leave them nutrient deprived.

The reason being, a period of extended fasting or the complete exclusion of one particular food group for an extended period of time may lead to the development of a number of maladies such as hair loss, various skin disorders and possible organ damage. As such, it’s a good idea to run any new diet past your doctor to ensure that you won’t be damaging your health when trying to make positive life choices.
