Your Easy Way To Curing Depression With Natural Mood Elevators

October 4, 2016 By Corey B

Natural mood elevators are important for a person’s well-being. Some of them are simple things that we normally do without knowing that they are good for our body. Here are some of the natural mood elevators:

Laughter

Research shows that laughter is the best medicine and that it can heal and restore us in many ways. This is just one aspect of Dr. Patch Adams’ work on healing and medicine. He describes himself as a clown and a doctor and was the inspiration of the film of the same name. Laughter is one of the natural mood elevators.

Have you ever wondered why they send clowns into children’s wards? Just to make them laugh so that they can pass the time better when they are ill? The reason is that laughter can boost children’s immune systems, increase energy and also lessen the pain, if they are suffering. In fact, laughter releases natural killer cells that can help our body defence systems. We should all aim to have a good laugh every day as the best and cheapest way to use one of the most natural mood elevators. It can also relax muscles, ease pain and increase circulation so we are going to feel much better all round. We can all watch a funny movie, look for funny friends who make us laugh or just share jokes on the Internet.

Touch

The power of human contact through touching another person or being touched should never be underestimated. An affectionate hug, holding someone or just holding hands are all simple ways to establish contact. But it does much, much more. You see, like laughter, touch also produces more endorphins, similar to when we exercise the body. It also produces more DHEA which lifts depression, promotes a feeling of well-being and can help you think more clearly. As if that was not enough there are loads of studies that show people who are touched affectionately just get better faster. You can ask for or offer to do a foot massage or just exchange hugs.

Diet

The third of the natural mood elevators is connected with diet. It has been found that people who are depressed have rather low levels of Vitamin B6 and B12 but also very little S-adenosyl-L-methionine which is the long name for SAMe. This is simply an amino acid which the body produces on its own. If we have enough of this then we can keep high levels of serotonin and dopamine and which means that we are cheerful, optimistic and positive. Studies have actually shown that SAMe works with some depressed patients even better than the classic anti depressants .

So, above we have three of the most natural mood elevators that are easily and readily available and will help to lift your mood in no time at all.
