Recently scientists from George Mason University discovered a substance in Komodo Dragon blood that can kill bacteria. The substance, called DRGN-1 was able to punch holes in the membranes of both gram positive and gram negative bacteria, dissolved bacterial-bonding biofilm and can speed skin healing. Due to the need for more antibiotics, drug companies have notice and have backed the researches. It was noticed that Komodos can heal potentially nasty wounds, which got the researches interested.
