Intestinal Flora Are Vital For Good Health

August 22, 2016 By Corey B

We all have to have beneficial microorganisms in our digestive system. It forms the digestive flora that assists in maintaining appropriate vitality levels, it produces efficiency in our immune system and eliminates carcinogenic compounds in the intestinal tract, this particular microflora is actually living microorganisms which thrives, as well as, grow inside the intestinal tract, when they are offered with the right conditions.

One of the primary beneficial functions that these intestinal flora perform is to keep harmful bacteria from growing. If you do not have these probiotics in sufficient amount, it is easier for pathogenic bacteria to grow as there will be more room and nutrition for them. Good bacteria also makes substances which will kill bacteria that is harmful. Insufficient probiotics can lead to easier infection with a disease.

The flora can also help our digestion as they breakdown carbohydrates which we could not digest otherwise. The carbohydrates are fermented into SCFAs or short chain fatty acids. These are then used by the body as food and energy. The flora also produces some vitamins, such as Vitamin K, and helps in their absorption. The SCFAs contribute to absorb iron, calcium, magnesium and other nutrients.

Lactobacilli produces lactic acids and are the primary intestinal flora in the small intestine. These acids help in the digestion of dairy products and reduces acid reflux, break down proteins and lower cholesterol levels. Besides lactobacilli, we also find Bifidobacteria in the large intestine. They produce compounds that increase the acid in the intestine. This, in turn, reduces the ability of harmful bacteria to grow.

Bacteria that produce lactic acid have been found to boost immune system function as well. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacteria have also been found to inhibit tumors from forming. Many research studies investigate exactly how this flora can be used to help with various medical conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Intestinal flora is definitely vital to our health. Many people take probiotic supplements to ensure that the levels of beneficial flora in the body is sufficient. They are also often made for medical issues and, although this use is not accepted by the medical community, many people are pleased with the results.

Nowadays, it is very common to be treated with an antibiotic for several conditions, this kind of treatment exclusively takes out your damaging bacteria, it also eliminates all of the digestive tract bacteria as well, as it will not discriminate, it also eliminates the beneficial bacteria that our gastrointestinal system needs to function effectively, this particular imbalances makes us prone to just about all types of bacterial infections and to disturbing diarrhea, at this point Candida can quickly expand causing a yeast infection.

The way to treat a yeast infection in a permanent way, is as simple as taking acacia soluble fiber, these contain live microorganisms that will serve to renew the intestinal tract flora making better your digestive function, they even control the ulcerative colitis, and lower the intestinal flow time to eliminate the waste material. Many brands of yogurts also have active live beneficial bacteria mostly Lactobacillus and Bifid bacillus, there are also several accessible probiotics supplements that also include acidophilus bacteria.
