The bumblebee population is on the decline, dropping by ninety percent, leaving the species endangered. While there are many factors feeding into this problem, Monsanto and similar companies have done more to harm the population. Monsanto produces glyphosate (Roundup) which can cause serious damage to bees, even in small doses. After exposure to the herbicide, the bees also carried that back to the hive, exposing the colony. There nitrogen fertilizers also are killing the soil, ruining farmland and leaving the bees without natural habitats.
