Nearly everyone knows that not getting enough sleep is a bad thing. However, did you know that getting too much sleep can be bad too? Studies show that seven to nine hours of sleep per night is the best for you, but it can take months or years for adverse health effects to show up if you are not in that range. Getting too much or not enough sleep seems to increase the risk of chronic inflammation within the body, which puts us at risk for heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.
