The Important Role Vitamin E Plays in Our Mental and Physical Health

December 8, 2015 By Corey B

While it typically doesn’t receive as much media attention as vitamin C or D, vitamin E plays an essential role in keeping us physically fit and mentally sound. Vitamin E aids in cellular regeneration, hair growth, eye health, stress reduction, muscle development, fertility, immune function, skin health and it has the effect of breaking up clumps of fatty tissue that can impair cognitive function. Since that nutrient is responsible for maintaining so many different parts of our physiology, it’s of vital importance to either take regular dietary supplements or eat foods that are rich in vitamin E on a regular basis.

This NDTV Food guide lists a number of different foods that are plentiful sources of vitamin E. For instance, sunflower seeds provide 82 percent of your daily recommended intake of vitamin E and they are also a good source of other essential vitamins and minerals like selenium, vitamin B2 and magnesium. Additionally, a half a cup of spinach will provide you with 40 percent of your daily recommended intake of vitamin E as well as possessing remarkably high concentrations of vitamin C. Follow the link below to learn what other ways vitamin E helps us remain healthy and other foods that are excellent sources of that particular nutrient.
