Recently, Colorado has taken a first step in fighting genetically modified food. They have banned certain crops from being grown on county-owned land. They will also ban pesticides known as neonics which have been attributed to the decimation of the bee population. Starting in January, county workers will have to work with the tenant farmers in the area to make sure any negative consequences are being prevented. GM crops are controversial but many believe they have negative effects on humans.
