An outbreak of Listeria traced back to Ouleout cheese from the Vulto Creamery has killed two people and hospitalized four more. Vulto creamery is recalling all cheese products implicated in the outbreak, and the CDC is recommending that these cheeses not be consumed or distributed. Outbreaks of Listeria are common, and healthy people who get infected tend to suffer short-term, flu-like symptoms. It can be fatal in the young, the elderly, pregnant women and anyone with frail immune systems.
