As we get older our ability to build muscle mass decreases. A professor says that in order to counteract this individuals need to recognize the importance of protein in diets of people over the age of 65. He states that if an elderly person wants to maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle they must eat more protein than younger people so that their muscle mass remains intact. However, eating protein isn’t the only thing necessary to keep muscle. It is important to also exercise to rebuild muscle.
