Breaking study has revealed two acid compounds, inherent to cannabis, are transformed by the human body into a substance called endocannabinoids. The acids, docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid, are components of heart-healthy omega-3 acids, which are themselves intrinsic to cannabis. When these acids undergo metabolic activity in the human body, thereby reducing them to endocannabinoids, they become very potent anti-inflammatory (more potent than the already deemed potent anti-anti-inflammatory effect of cannabis in it’s non-metabolized, pre-ingested state) substances, useful to the human organism. The endocannabinoids achieve this anti-inflammatory effect, without affecting the ingesting person’s mental state. This also constitutes ground-breaking news, because it means users can achieve an even higher degree of anti-inflammatory effect than that available to them from pre-ingested cannabis, without the drug’s known psychotropic effects.
