A team at Erasmus University Medical Center are about to begin human trials on a drug that has restored stamina, fur and dome organ function in older mice. The drug works by ridding the body of cells that no longer divide called senescent cells. The drug appears to have no side effects but no one is able to tell how it makes the mice feel. Human trials will need to be done with safety measures in place and an appropriate age group but the findings in mice are too substantial to ignore and should be followed up with human trials.
