A study recently published in the science journal Natural Genetics says that 40 new genes associated with intelligence have been discovered. While the discovery may be interesting to some, reseachers claim that the intelligence findings have opened up just a small window into intelligence and the human genetic code.
The study was done by scientists and researchers at VU University in Amsterdam. They went on to say in the Natural Genetics article that with the discovery of the new intelligence genes that one thing is for certain. It is that intelligence and genetics are more complex than one thinks. The researchers state that along with the new genetic findings, those genes only account for about 5 percent of the total human intelligence variation.
