November 25, 2013 By Darrell Miller

ResveratrolWhat is Resveratrol

Resveratrol is an element of polyphenols, which are plant compounds. These compounds contain antioxidant properties that protect the body against any kind of damage that is associated with conditions such as heart and cancer diseases. Recent studies have revealed that resveratrol is the mythical fountain of youth. It has been shown to be the science to beat aging. It contains special formula, which keeps our insides, our skin, and our body from displaying wear and tear of all the years.

How Does It Work

Resveratrol works by stimulating cellular proteins that are known as sirtuins. These cellular proteins promote the life of cells. For many years, researchers had discovered resveratrol to stimulate proteins. However, they did not know how it exactly did and this compound could be successfully being incorporated into anti-aging supplement.

A research from the Harvard Medical School reports that resveratrol appears to increase the mitochondria activity. This activity produces the energy required in cells and thereby extending their lives.

Benefits of Resveratrol

There are many diseases associated with aging that include type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancer and cognitive decline. It has been shown to prevent the spread of the cancerous cells and destroying the existing cancer cells. A research from National Institutes of Health shows that Resveratrol has an effect in reducing the pancreatic cancer. Cancer of the pancreas is one of the complicated cancers to treat. It is able to reduce the functioning capacity of a cancer cell. This also makes them susceptible to the effects of chemotherapy.

The use resveratrol as an anti-aging supplement has many benefits. This is because it has a direct correlation with increased energy, overall muscle strength, and increased testosterone production. All these are what old people lack. It is use is said to increase muscle oxygen consumption during athletic training.

Since resveratrol is an antioxidant, when used as a supplement it works to prevent the body damage from the free radicals. This helps improve one’s immune system, delay signs of aging and improve overall health.
