Is soy good or bad for you?

March 8, 2017 By Darrell Miller

Soy has become quite popular in recent years as more and more people desire to improve their eating habits and their health. But, is soy really what it is cracked up to be and as healthy as they’ve claimed? There is a new study that was just recently put out that you should read to learn the real deal about soy and whether or not it is good for your health. What you learn might just surprise you!

Key Takeaways:

  • Researches are conflicted about the benefits of soy consumption. While it benefits cardiovascular health and weight loss, it’s been linked to breast cancer and allergies.
  • 80% of the soy grown in the United States is used as animal food. It’s also very popular staple in a vegetarian diet.
  • Soy provides a good source of protein and healthy fats. However, how it is prepared and eaten effects how the body benefits from it.

“Results from our study and those from others are consistent that soy food consumption in women with breast cancer does not have a detrimental effect on prognosis or survival.”
