Nearly 80% of Our Immune System Is Located In The Gut

September 24, 2017 By Corey B

Most of us are not aware that 70-80% of the immune system is situated in the digestive system. There are more neurons in the human intestine than it is in the whole spinal cord. Basically to stay healthy, people should keep their intestinal system safe. There is around 3 and a half pounds of probiotics in the gut of every healthy people, and that produces many important vitamins and hormones. These are very much essential for the digestive system to break fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. They also fight with the unnecessary micro-organism like fungi, yeasts, parasites, and bacteria which can affect your body from minor allergies to IBS to cancer. You will be shocked after knowing the fact that there can be over 400 species of microbes in one’s gut which can have more bacteria than the total number of known stars in the universe.

Probiotics also have anti-inflammatory power which can’t result in reducing the serum CRP level and also controls the production of cytokines in human body. In current society, people think that to get your immune system up and running one should wash hands regularly and eat right foods enriched with vitamins and proteins but they aren’t aware about how the inner intestinal tract works. According to studies one should take more probiotics and eat colon healthy foods for a better and healthy immune system. Probiotics can help with skin problems from the red itchy skin, dermatitis to allergies. Taking fibers can help the colon stay active.

So keep in mind that the brain, gut and primary immune system all are co-related and so to gain an optimal digestive system one should take proper care of the gut.
